Meet The Founders

Margaret Nabors is the founder and co-owner of Mustard Seed Market & Café. She is the “mom” in our “mom and pop” business. She loves her team members and customers. She believes in treating her staff and customers as family and considers it her duty to protect the integrity of the food served. She believes in Mustard Seed Market & Café with all her heart and views the opportunity to provide natural foods and products to her community a divine mission. If you come to her home, you will see the store. She walks her talk, period. She has witnessed miracles and transformations in people’s lives by their taking responsibility for their health and well being.

Phillip Nabors, co-owner of Mustard Seed Market & Café, is dedicated to serving the consumer of the natural foods industry. Phillip is a veteran in food safety and consumer rights legislation. He played a key role in Congress' passing of the Dietary Supplement Health & Education Act of 1994, which mandated the labeling of dietary supplements. He was also instrumental in helping to get organic legislation passed by Congress in 1990, which required the USDA to develop organic guidelines. Recently, Phillip has been active in lobbying for U.S. legislation that would require the labeling of genetically engineered foods (GEF), allowing for consumers to recognize a food’s origin and composition and choose accordingly.
